Image of the Express Map Editing Screen. On the top of the image, the map toolbar is highlighted, which is where most of the map customization will take place. To the right of the toolbar is a search box that allows users to search for a specific location. On the left side of the image is a panel that indicates map settings as well as layer details. On the bottom right of the image is a "Place map" button, which then adds the map to the Story. The middle of the image displays a gray- and- white-colored map of the world.

Basemap Settings

Express Maps can be customized in a limited number of ways. This includes adding a legend or choosing from 3 different basemaps, including a terrain map and 2 black and white maps (one distinctly showing country borders).
