I have always been an imaginative thinker, but my undergraduate training in biology helped me to become systematic as well. My interests run the gamut from hard numbers and technology to music, art, and literature. Fortunately, as a librarian, I have the freedom to bring both my systematic side and my creative side into my work, and hopefully help my patrons become even more information literate.
What currently catches my fancy:
+ Medical Humanities, in particular the use of comics and narrative by both professionals and patients
+ Health Literacy
+ Advanced Research Techniques, such as Systematic Reviews, -omics resources, and the use of citation management software
+ Data Management Education & Data Literacy
+ Gamification & Badging
+ Data Visualization & Infographic Tools
+ Effective Instructional Design, in-person and online
