What is Geoscience

According to e-Science Portal for Librarians, the geoscience disciplines encompass the study of the planet Earth. This includes the study of the earth's atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere.  The geosciences also embody other disciplines such as physical geography, GIS, environmental science and cartographical methodologies. There are several sub-disciplines which include climatology, paleoclimatology, paleontology, biogeography, oceanography, hydrology, limnology, geology, geophysics, mineralogy, and petrology.
