Summer 2025 update!

Introduction

What is OAsis?

OAsis is an online institutional repository designed to openly share and preserve UNLV research, scholarship, and creative activity. It hosts over 30,000 items which have received over 15 million downloads worldwide! The repository is a service provided by the University Libraries.

Our Collections

What's in OAsis?

We currently collect research, scholarship, and creative activity from anyone at UNLV!

Examples of existing materials in OAsis include:

  • Graduate student theses, dissertations, capstones, and doctoral projects
  • Undergraduate student research presentations
  • Faculty publications (journal articles, book chapters)
  • Research reports, podcasts, and newsletters from university institutes
  • Open access journals that we host
  • and so much more!

Why share my work on OAsis?

By sharing your work in the repository, you gain:

  • Long-term preservation of your content through persistent URLs
  • Greater visibility and reach - the repository has received over 14 million downloads since 2009! Works shared openly receive more citations and engagement.
  • Access to download statistics and other research impact metrics

Eligibility

Is my work eligible to be added?

Examples of research and/or scholarly activity may include:

  • Journal articles
  • Book chapters
  • Conference presentation recordings or slides
  • Research posters
  • Research reports
  • Capstones/final projects in a class

Examples of creative activity may include:

  • Music recital recordings
  • Scholarly or educational podcasts
  • Art collages or zines from UNLV events

Submitting Your Work

How do I submit my work?

Submitting materials is free and simple, and we allow authors to maintain full copyright of their work. Fill out our submission form and the University Libraries will review the submission.

Open Access

Is the repository limited to the UNLV community?

The repository is intended to be open and free for all! We support free access and free readership but since there are materials from a variety of open access levels and license types, there may be limitations on reuse based on licenses and agreements that individuals authors have chosen.
