Medical Residents & Fellows

A guide to help UNLV residents and fellows access and use the School of Medicine Library

Welcome

Welcome to the UNLV School of Medicine Library!

The School of Medicine Library (SOML) is an educational facility that serves the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine students, staff, faculty, and the Las Vegas community.

UNLV residents and fellows have 24/7 electronic access to our extensive collection of databases, e-books, e-journals, and more. UNLV residents and fellows also have access to librarian support for their clinical practice, research, and scholarship.

Please use this guide as a starting part for accessing and using the library and our resources.

We look forward to assisting you with your research needs!

UNLV Identifications

UNLV Identifications

There are several important identifiers you will need to keep track of if you wish to take full advantage of the UNLV SOML resources and services.

NSHE ID/Number. This is a an identification number assigned by NSHE at the state-level. It allows you to add money to your virtual account, which is linked to your ACE Account and to your UNLV RebelCard

ACE Account. This is a university-level account assigned by the UNLV Office of Information Technology. This is one of the most important accounts for your time at UNLV. It grants you access to UNLV licensed library resources from off-campus.

Rebel Card. Incoming residents and fellows are provided with a Rebel Card as part of the onboarding process. A Rebel Card allows you to borrow library materials, pay for printing in the library and request items through interlibrary loan.

If you don't have a Rebel Card, please email gme@medicine.unlv.edu for further assistance.
