Access to archived articles from 1923-1980 is limited for academic pass holders on the NYTimes.com site, but you have unlimited access via the databases below.

Set up access to the NY Times on their web site

UNLV Libraries and the Wiener-Rogers Law Library are co-sponsoring access to the online New York Times. 

Students, faculty and staff can now read The New York Times onlineThe New York Times Book Review, and The New York Times Magazine. (Academic Pass access does not include Premium Crosswords, the New York Times Crosswords apps, e-reader editions, or Times Premier content.)

Claim your free NYT academic pass by going to Access NYT and selecting the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from the dropdown menu. You must use your University of Nevada, Las Vegas email address for your academic pass. Students will also be asked to fill in their graduation date.

Students will have access until December 31st of their graduation year, and faculty will need to re-authenticate their eligibility every four years.

Faculty contributors select recent articles from the New York Times and provide prompts for class conversation and reflection along with a summary and suggestions for further reading. (Log in by creating a NYT inEducation account using your UNLV email address; this account is separate from your site subscription account.)

Once logged in you have full access to the resources and can:

  • Visit Article Recommendations to discover additional NYTimes.com articles related to your area of study.
  • Visit Resources to find additional NYTimes.com topic pages relevant to your area of interest, sign up for email newsletters, set up customs news alerts, and much more.
  • Visit Co-Curricular ideas to see how colleges and universities around the globe use NY Times content to enrich learning outside of the classroom.
