SAE International's A World in Motion (R) program brings industry or academic STEM professionals into your classroom to work with you on curriculum-tied activities for grades K-12. The Tech Trekker is a mobile STEM lab that brings specialized equipment into K-12 classrooms in the Las Vegas area. The equipment are intended to supplement teacher lessons and to assist teachers in meeting the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) relating to engineering design and technology. There is no cost for the program and all teachers are welcome to apply.

The Multicultural Program for STEM and Health Sciences aims to encourage and attract minority students to the STEM and health science careers, retain them and help to graduate on time. The services this program provides help eliminate equity gaps, increases post-secondary success. With guidance from professional workforce experts, who are members of the USNet network, we prepare students to become skilled professionals in high-demand careers.

The program is also home to five affinity student organizations within STEM areas. Students from the following groups are always willing to collaborate on outreach events and peer mentoring opportunities:
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE)
American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).

Daniel Mendoza represents the College of Engineering here at UNLV. He is the point of contact for K-12 school partners, industry partners and community partners. He can provide tours of campus specializing in Engineering, which will include our buildings, information on majors and lab visits. Daniel can also coordinate sit downs with experts in fields of interest.

Daniel is also available to coordinate visits to your classroom and school campus. In these presentations, he provides information on UNLV admission requirements, scholarship information, deadlines, etc.
