RefWorks Basics: Exporting citations from EBSCO databases (2025 interface)

Learn how to use RefWorks

New EBSCOhost interface tips

To export up to 50 records from the EBSCOhost interface:

1) Select records from your results list using the checkbox

2) Use the Cite (") icon at the top of your result list to bring up a citation dialogue

3) Choose the Export Citation tab and choose Export to RefWorks. This will open a new tab and automatically import your references. Alternately, you can save a file in RIS format and import that into RefWorks.

If you wish to export more search results, use the Load More Results bar at the bottom of the list. You'll see a second checkbox at the top of the next set of results - use that to select that batch. Then return to the top of the list to find the Cite button to get to the Export to RefWorks or RIS file options.
