About the Music Library

The UNLV Music Library opened in August 2001. It is located in the Beam Music Center at the northeast corner of campus. The Music Library houses a small music reference collection, approximately 35,000 scores, and over 13,000 recordings focusing on classical music and jazz. Books about music and music journals are located in Lied Library, UNLV's main library. Services provided in the Music Library include circulation and reference. Reserve materials for classes in the Music Department are located in the Music Library, as well as in Lied Library. Staffing for the Music Library includes one full-time classified staff member and 6-9 student workers. The Music Library's primary goal is to support the curriculum of the Music Department and the teaching and research needs of faculty and students.
