Publishers are choosing to flip some or all of their traditional journals to open access using subscription revenue. This means that as long as enough subscriptions are renewed in a given calendar year, the journal will make all the articles from that year open access. There are no additional costs to the "subscribing" institutions or their authors under this model.
UNLV University Libraries are proud to prioritize access to journals in our collections that commit to a "subscribe to open (S2O)" model of publishing.
Examples of journals and their publishers using a S2O model and that UNLV has a subscription to.
This page describes the different agreements the library has negotiated with publishers that provide support for UNLV researchers wishing to publish their articles open access. These agreements either cover APCs for some or all the publisher's journals or provide a discount.
