PPY 724: Performance Measurement and Benchmarks (Stream): Library Guides

This page provides resources for local government elected officials, managers, and staff within Washington State who are developing and implementing performance measurement systems, including examples of local performance reports and online dashboards. Includes resources from other jurisdictions.

These reports apply the Outcome Framework to 14 program areas. For each program, there is a sample mission statement, an outcome sequence chart, a table of candidate program-specific outcomes, and data collection strategies with suggested data sources for each outcome indicator.

Provides users with access to interactive, customizable and up-to-date comparative performance measurement data for 50 states in six key areas: fiscal and economic, public safety and justice, energy and environment, transportation, health and human services, and education. Although this information is not especially current (most recent 2014), it still provides some interesting performance measurement data.

Find key data for state/jurisdiction performance on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) assessments in mathematics, reading, writing, and science at grades 4, 8 and 12 (where applicable). View trends and demographics, download snapshot reports, and compare results for each state/jurisdiction to the nation and to the other states.
