UNLV proxy settings

If you hit a paywall when reading academic journals on the web, Zotero can reload the page for you through UNLV Libraries' journal subscriptions and you can get access with your ACE account. Here's how to configure that.

You'll need the zotero browser connector installed. Right click the connector to get the Options menu:

and check off the box that says Enable Proxy Redirection.

This will open a configuration box. In the box labeled Scheme, paste in

%h.ezproxy.library.unlv.edu/%p

Once the Scheme is set up, you can uncheck Enable Proxy Redirection and you will still be able to reload pages manually by right-clicking the browser connector. If you leave the box checked, it will redirect pages from the list of hosts (academic publishers) automatically. The default list in Zotero does not necessarily reflect UNLV's actual subscription holdings.

If you use the Kanopy streaming video service, leave the box unchecked or it may prevent you from authenticating on that platform.
