ACS, American Cancer Society Offers research grants and health professional training grants related to cancer.
ACSM, American College of Sports Medicine Research grants relate to sports medicine and exercise science.
Aetna Foundation Aetna's funding supports research to deepn the knowledge about the causes of poor health outcomes and find solutions, policy analysis, and programs.
AFSP, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Support studies aimed at increasing our understanding of the root causes of suicide and factors related to suicide risk, or that test treatments and other interventions designed to prevent suicide.
AHA, American Heart Association Supports the development of beginning investigators and offers innovative funding mechanisms to stimulate research in promising areas of cardiovascular science.
ANF, American Nurses Foundation Encourages the research career development of nurses.
Arcus Foundation Is a leading global foundation advancing pressing social justice and conservation issues.
Commonwealth Fund Supports independent research on health and social issues and makes grants to improve health care practice and policy. They are dedicated to helping people become more informed about their health care and improving care for vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, low-income families, minorities, and the uninsured.
Elton John AIDS Foundation The U.S. organization invests more than $6 million each year in grants to community-based projects.
Ford Foundation Focuses on reducing poverty and injustice; promoting democratic values; and advancing human knowledge, creatvity, and achievement.
Foundation for Physical Therapy This foundation offers a number of funding opportunities to support physical therapy researchers.
Grand Challenges in Global Health, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Fosters scientific and technological innovation to solve key problems in the developing world.
John A. Hartford Foundation Supports research directed at the health of older Americans.
Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare Offers grants to develop outstanding faculty, advance scholarship, and spark innovative practice.
Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation Dedicated to improving the health of the public by advancing the education and training of health professionals.
LHF, Lesbian Health Fund LHF's mission is to improve the health of lesbians and their families through investigation and research.
National Academies The National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, Institute of Medicine, and National Research Council offer several fellowships in science, engineering, and medicine.   
ONS, Oncology Nursing Society The ONS research agenda focuses on gaps in the knowledge base for oncology nursing practice.
PCORI, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Supports research that provides information about the best available evidence to help patients and their health care providers make more informed decisions.
RFP Bulletin Nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.
RWJF, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation RWJF seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans.
STTI, Sigma Theta Tau International STTI and collaborating nursing organizations offer research grant opportunities to nurses around the globe.
W. K. Kellogg Foundation They fund research grants that help achieve their mission of creating conditions that propel vulnerable children to success.
