On December 18, 2017, the UNLV Libraries launched a new Library Services Platform.
How does this impact you?: There is a new look and feel to searching the UNLV Libraries holdings and viewing your patron account for renewing books, requesting holds, etc. The new system replaces the online Library Catalog and the Libraries’ Quick Search with a single interface. Advanced search algorithms facilitate easier discovery and access of the Libraries’ content.
The new system also provides enhancements to the staff interface that the Libraries use to manage library resources, patron records, course reserves, circulation, and library catalog records. Key benefits of the new system include integrated management of print and electronic library resources, streamlining of staff workflows, and reduced maintenance and support needs.
This new library services platform launch is a collaboration between UNLV University Libraries, the Wiener-Rogers Law Library, College of Southern Nevada Libraries, the Nevada State College Library, and the Desert Research Institute Libraries.
UNLV Libraries is excited about this transition and staff have been working hard over the past year to prepare for the change to the new system.
