On the Journal Articles & Databases tab of this MFT guide you will find links to subject databases that give you more search options than does QuickSearch, although there will be some overlap of content.
PsycINFO, for example, allows you to limit your search using several criteria such as:
PsycINFO also provides a Thesaurus which you can use to identify subject terms that will focus your search results.
For example, instead of Marital Therapy, PsycINFO uses the subject term Marriage Counseling.
The Thesaurus provides broader and narrower subject terms for each concept. Click the check box next to each term and use the ADD button to transfer it to the search box.
You can repeat this process to add other thesaurus terms to your search OR you can type in additional keywords.
On the search results screen, mouse over the magnifying glass icon to view an abstract (description) for the item. Some articles will have a link to the full-text in PDF format; others will have a link to UNLV Find Text which will connect you with UNLV collection content.
