As part of the Lied Library Space Enhancement Project, construction will be taking place in the building over Winter Break. Beginning Monday, December 14, a contractor will be in Lied Library to complete several small construction projects that may impact you:
- The former copy rooms on floors 2-5 will be converted to group study spaces. The millwork and pink acoustical wall panels will be removed, and the walls will be patched & painted. Additionally, green glass markerboards will be installed on two walls in each space.
- The millwork that used to house newspapers will be removed; the adjacent half wall will be patched and painted, and any necessary carpet repairs will be made.
- The back portion of the half wall that separates the two flexible group study areas on the 2nd floor will be removed. Adjacent walls will be patched and painted, and any necessary carpet repairs will be made.
- The low counter near the entrance to the larger flexible group study area will be removed; a new half wall will be built to fill in that space. The remaining fixed computer furniture will be installed in this area near the beginning of spring semester.
In order to minimize impact to you, the majority of this work will be taking place Monday - Friday, 2:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
